Dear Folks,

I have started what I hope to be a series of mini-lessons in the garden.

It is also that time of year when I corn (brine) a piece of beef for our St. Patrick's day Dinner - I started this some years to keep the nitrates out and the spice flavor in.

One of the toughest things we have to do each spring starting about now and following the flowering and fruit set of our peaches and apricots is to thin the fruit out.  This is really sad because we work so hard keeping the trees and our gardens healthy, that to toss the small fruit to compost seems such a waste

I couple of years ago I saw post about a recipe for pickling the baby peaches.  This is a fun recycle of compost destined garden culling, that I want to make sure everyone knows about this option.
