Many of the city and county areas in the Deep South including Florida, Texas, parts of Louisiana and Southern California are in USDA Zone 9b and above. The planting information in my calendar is applicable to those areas. It is not just about the summer heat, it is also about daylight hours, and soil and air temperature.
