Dear Folks,

I have been looking at the long-range weather projections and we could
have near freezing temps following a projected rain storm around
Valentine's day. Have your frost covers ready.

Planting for February:

Artichoke; Asparagus; Basil; Bay; Bee Balm (Monarda Didyma);
Beets; Bok Choy; Cantaloupe; Carrots; Chard; Collards; Corn;
Cucumbers; Epazote; Fruit Trees; Jerusalem Artichoke; Lavender;
Lettuce & Greens; Marjoram; Melon, Musk Melon; Melon, Winter;
Mint; Mustard; Onion, Sets; Onions, Green; Oregano; Peas;
Peppers; Potatoes; Radishes; Safflower (Carthamus Tinctorius);
Sage; Savory; Scented Geranium; Spinach; Squash, Summer;
Strawberry; Tangerine Scented Marigold (Tagetes Lemonii); Thyme;
Tomatoes; Turnips; Watermelon

Edible Flowers to Plant
Bee Balm; Citrus Scented Marigold (Tagetes Nelsonii); English
Daisy; Hollyhock; Jasmine Sambac (Arabian); Mint; Pansies;
Primrose; Purslane; Safflower; Scented Geraniums; Snapdragons;
Sunflower; Sweet Alyssum; Violet/Johnny Jump-ups

You can continue to plant garlic cloves for "green garlic" --
harvest when the plants are about 10 inches or so tall and the clove
has swollen. If you love this wonderful option, successive plant
every 2-3 weeks through May.

Have a great time in the garden,

Catherine
