STOREFRONT OPPORTUNITY GRANT

New 2026 Storefront Opportunity Grant from OEWD! The grant program will provide $50,000 - $100,000 to eligible businesses to help offset the costs of opening a new storefront in the Tenderloin, Visitation Valley, and Excelsior neighborhoods. Applications will be evaluated on business concept/market fit, financial readiness, background/experience, and community fit.

Interested business owners will need to submit an application by Friday, February 13 at 5:00PM.

Visit https://www.sf.gov/apply-for-a-grant-to-open-a-new-storefront for details and application.

SFRPD COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITY FUND

The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department is pleased to announce that nominations for Community Opportunity Fund (COF) project grants will open in January!  Applications will be accepted January 2026 through March 2026.

COF is a citywide capital improvement program funded by General Obligation Bonds that provides an opportunity for neighbors, community groups, park advocates, and partners to nominate their park project ideas for funding.

The previous five rounds of COF funded more than $17 million in community-nominated projects at 35 city parks, including improvements at Bayview K.C. Jones Playground, Golden Gate Heights Park, Fillmore Turk Mini Park, and Zion Skate Plaza (Waller Street Skate Park). This is the COF’s sixth application cycle and the City has allocated $6 million from the 2020 Health and Recovery Bond for this round of project awards.  Awards of up to $1.5M will be offered for large projects and up to $500K for small projects.

The process for nominating projects is intended to be easy and accessible for everyone. All interested parties are encouraged to complete an application, attend an info session, or reach out for more information.

Once the application period closes, all nominated projects will be evaluated by a Rec and Park-led review panel. Then, the San Francisco Recreation and Park Commission will review the panel’s recommendations and make award decisions by mid-2026.

Please visit the program’s website for more details about the program. We look forward to receiving your application!

Bicis Del Pueblo

Bicis Del Pueblo offers weekly shops nights at both 1950 Mission (near 16th Street BART station) and 404 Geneva Ave (at the Balboa BART Plaza).
  1. If you already have a bicycle and it needs some TLC, their team offers guided hands on support to do the necessary repairs and maintenance.
  2. Bici Para Ti (Bike For You) program: for anyone who doesn't have a bicycle, you can receive one after participating in two hands on workshops (the first focused on how the bike works, the second focused on riding safely in the city). Each workshop takes roughly 1.5hrs. There is a range of used municipal bikes that they will do their best to find something that will fit your body and riding needs.
They also host regular community bike rides twice a month that are shared on their instagram page.
