Hello!

From the Mayor's Office of Community Engagement comes the announcement of a community engagement opportunity this Saturday, April 11

Join San Francisco Public Works for a day of greening and neighborhood pride in District 11 (Outer Mission, Crocker-Amazon, Brotherhood Way, and more).

There will be 7-10 worksites where volunteers will garden, plant trees, mulch, pick up litter, or abate graffiti. 

The projects and tasks will be different, depending on the site and community group's requests.

What to Expect

  • The event kicks off at Balboa Pool Grass Lawn (51 Havelock St) with registration between 8:30 AM and 9 AM.
  • We’ll hold a short speaking program to go over the day’s activities and get a quick safety overview.
  • Volunteers and Public Works staff then will head to their assigned work sites.
  • Work will take place for about 3 hours, with everyone returning to the kickoff location around noon.
  • Sandwiches will be served to volunteers.

What to Wear/Bring

  • Dress in layers
  • Wear closed toe shoes and sunscreen
  • Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
