Personal Endorsement and Request

Hey all,
II don't often endorse or put my name behind much...if you are going to associate yourself with something, it needs to be good and aboveboard..and unfortunately, there doesn't always seem to be too much that fits that description. However, I am sending out a note on a new website that gets my full endorsement.

It is IdGoBack.com

This is a website that has been created by my uncle, Kevin Martin. This would be my mother's, Debbie Shick's, brother and you should know that it is a joint venture between my Uncle Kevin and my parents, Clinton and Debbie Shick. You might ask, "What do the Shicks know about web design and why would they want to venture into that area?" Well, in the beginning, nobody really knew much of anything. It is a long story but the short version is that this website was literally birthed from a dream which has slowly, over the course of almost 2 years, become a reality. Now they know more than should be legal and their website is  up and running...and very cool, I might add.:)

In many ways, IdGoBack will look like other social networks, such as Facebook. You might say at this point, "I don't have time for another site like that." I myself am a member of FB, as many of us are friends there, and I can tell you that there are some major differences between the concepts of the site. In IdGoBack, the material that you yourself input or that others before you have input becomes the conversation threads. The site functions as a place where people can go and personally recommend their favorite...whatevers! You can put in your fave restaurants, your church, your best shopping places, the best travel, fave hairstylists, etc...I think you get the picture...it is one gigantic forum for all the great places out there that deserve a shoutout about their exceptional products and customer service. To add to the fun, however, is that you do accumulate your friends and can immediately see what places they recommend...the photos that they post or the videos they post...

Now some of you registered with this website in the first phase...which had a lot of bugs...and went offline for a complete overhaul. Now, this newlly and professionally designed site is just around 3 weeks old. It is growing by the day. It looks great and offers some cool stuff to read and comment on. When Facebook and MySpace began, it was with very humble beginnings...much like IdGoBack.com has been born. But, with more and more people signing on and  contributing to content, those websites have huge and loyal followings. IdGoBack.com is personally administered by my Uncle Kevin Martin, many of you have already seen his picture and seen his posts on FB. He monitors the site to make sure that there is no inappropriate content that is allowed through.  Below is a letter that he has sent out that describes IdGoBack.com is his own words. But I wanted to send something out... in support of my family's new business, so to speak...that described why I think you should go out there, register and give it some of your valuable time.

Thank you for reading...those of you who have hung in there to the end....and I look forward to reading about your favorite ice cream place...or grocery store...or hotel...you get the idea!

The site content is generated completely by users of the site...you add the places and things you like.  It could be your business or a friend or family member business.  It could be a travel place you love...share it with us...we want to know bout your great places and you also find out new places!

Sign up...post a profile photo of you ...and invite all your friends and family into the site.  When you have a network of friends it will be fun, and you can also network more. You can add places you like by hitting the: ADD A PLACE NOW!  Button on the upper right of the site.

And you can comment on places already in the site in PLACES.  And by hitting the "IdGoBacks" tab...you can answer all of the questions on that page and comment on other posts that have been made.
