Tests MT39, MT40, and MT41 no longer working as of 7/28/25

Hello ETT team.
These 3 tests have stopped working. 

We are now seeing the following error for all three tests:
"1: Error in TEST MESSAGE DISPOSITION NOTIFICATION: Couldn't connect to host, port: direct.ett.healthit.gov, 25; timeout -1"

These tests fail after approximately 2-3 minutes with the error above in the Test logs pane. Note that these tests were working correctly on 7/21/25 so it does not appear to relate to an ETT version update. Note that this is a different error than we saw last month as discussed in https://groups.google.com/g/edge-test-tool/c/wHJRQfg-U8Q/m/4GQl68TQAwAJ

This issue has recurred. This morning (9/9/25) we are again seeing this error in the ETT Logs tab when attempting to run these tests:

Test Logs

1: Error in TEST MESSAGE DISPOSITION NOTIFICATION: Couldn't connect to host, port: direct.ett.healthit.gov, 25; timeout -1

Note that we have a customer scheduled for certification testing tomorrow, so your prompt attention to this issue would be appreciated.

Hi Sai,

SMTP MT Test 39 (Message with Good Header) and SMTP MT Test 40 (Message with Bad Header) are working successfully. However, SMTP MT Test 41 (Unable to deliver) is still not working. Could you please check the same?

Hi Sai,

Regarding MT Test 41 (Unable to Deliver), I created a Direct address on my HISP with a valid certificate; however, the mailbox is intentionally not configured.

When I run this test, the request from ETT should at least reach my server before the delivery failure occurs. However, I do not see any incoming request or error logged on my server side.

For more details, please check the attached screenshots. If I am missing anything or doing something incorrectly, please assist me.

Can you confirm you are sending a processed and a failed MDN for 41?
