Hi.

2. An XML snippet of your actual XML author code and its display name may help as well.

Hi Mat,

Thank you for your response.

Yes, we searched the VSAC value set
OID: 2.16.840.1.114222.4.11.1066
and we were not able to locate the code 200000000X in the expansion list.

Here is the XML snippet we are working with:

<assignedAuthor> <code code="200000000X" codeSystem="2.16.840.1.113883.6.101" displayName="Allopathic & Osteopathic Physicians"/> </assignedAuthor>

Since this code does not appear in the VSAC value set, we want to confirm:

• Is this code expected to be present in this value set, or
• Should we be using a different provider taxonomy value for authoring providers?

Any guidance on the correct binding for <assignedAuthor>/code would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi there and thanks for your additional details.

1. Whether the code is expected to be present in this valueset isn't something I can answer - if you feel like it should be present, don't forget to check previous versions of the valueset

2. Based on the following template details, you're using the right valueset - https://www.hl7.org/ccdasearch/templates/2.16.840.1.113883.10.20.22.4.119.html

3. You should do a search using the "Descriptor" column to see if you can find a code that 1) matches your text search and 2) you feel is appropriate for your case

FYI, there are 230 provider codes in VSAC value set OID: 2.16.840.1.114222.4.11.1066 if searched with description of "Allopathic & Osteopathic Physicians" and none of those 230 codes matches to  "200000000X".

Here is a link of HL7 version 3 value-set for NUCC Provider Codes:  https://build.fhir.org/ig/HL7/UTG/ValueSet-v3-NUCCProviderCodes.html
Examples,
Family Medicine Physician - 207Q00000X
Internal Medicine Physician - 207R00000X

Hi Mat,

Thank you for your response and the additional guidance.
We will review the Provider Taxonomy value set again and use the Descriptor column to identify an appropriate code that aligns with the provider’s specialty. We will review this on our end and let you know if we have any further questions.

Thank you again.
Joe

No problem at all. Thank you for that update and the future update as well.

It helps for those who may face the same or a similar issue in the future.
