Reference C-CDA Validator – Java and Tomcat Version Support

Hello,

A customer has successfully deployed the Reference C-CDA Validator on a Microsoft Azure server. They have raised a concern regarding the current runtime requirements of the validator, specifically:

• Tomcat: Version 9
• Java: Version 8

These versions are approaching the lower end of what is actively supported in many environments.

Their primary concern is around future compatibility. For example, if Azure were to deprecate support for Java 8 in favor of newer versions such as Java 11 or later (and similarly for Tomcat), what options would be available for maintaining the validator deployment?

Additionally, are there any plans to update the Reference C-CDA Validator to support more current versions of Java and Tomcat?
