I am trying to view the “validation reports” for the Direct Trust Self-Assessment. However, they don’t seem to exist anymore compared to when I did the same Accreditation in 2023.

I get an email from the ETT Testing tool like the following:

However, when I click on the url shown above (which should take me to a html validation report), all it does it redirect me to this site:

What happened to the “validation reports”, where are they now in this new ETT testing tool?

Thanks,

Greg

Hi Greg. That link is to a report in the old ETT UI, but how was the email generated with that link? Was it through SITE/ETT or something else?

The testing tool generated the email.

Which test specifically? Can you provide a link?

This is the test: https://site.healthit.gov/direct/senddirect
I am sending from the ETT Testing tool to our company's direct message address.

The ETT tool creates and sends me an email with a link to the validation report:

When I click on that it still just takes me to the site: https://site.healthit.gov/
I don't see a validation report like it used to do two years ago with we going through the accreditation process.

We also have this issue with h.1 testing validation reports (received by email) still point to ett.healthit.gov. Clicking the link gets redirected to site.healthit.gov home page.
Will this be fixed in the next release?

Any idea when this will be fixed approximately?

Hi Greg,

In order to debug, would you mind doing the following?
1. Go to site.healthit.gov and log in to your account (you must be logged in for this to work, and from the SITE account where the message was originally sent)
2. Navigate to Direct tooling (https://site-dev.healthit.gov/direct)
3. Navigate to Send Direct Email (https://site.healthit.gov/direct/senddirect)
4. Click the Message Status tab
5. Look for and open the set of messages for the relevant email
6. Hopefully, the open you are looking for, has a Status of MDN_RECEIVED
7. If so, click that.
8. This should open the Validation Report.
9. If it does, please copy the URL and provide it here. It likely will look something like this, but may not be exact:
https://site.healthit.gov/direct/messagestatus/validationreport/outgoing/%3C926966575.106327.1746725895157%40lpv-hiesgwp01.co.ihc.com%3E
10. Whether or not the prior step works, In addition, please stay logged in, and let me know if the above URL works for you. Also, please let me know if your URL from step 9 is different than mine.

That will be very helpful to diagnose the issue. Thanks!

Hi James,

You had mentioned this also happens with h.1 testing validation reports.

1. Would you mind posting steps to reproduce your issue?
2. Can you please share the entire email you received from ETT with us including the from address?
3. If you can follow similar steps that I have outlined in my response to Greg and provide a response, that may be helpful. But, understood, the UI is different for H1.

Thanks!

Please also try 'incoming' instead of 'outgoing' in the URL example given above, with your message id at the end vs the example id given.

For example, James, here is the exact URL that should work for you after you are logged in, using your message id ( 91307037.6533.1742338845219)  in the email you received (according to the screenshot that started this post), to view your report:

Since it is incoming vs outgoing, to find it on your own via the UI without the link, in step 4, after clicking Message Status tab, you would need to click the switch to the off/left/incoming vs outgoing state, then select the relevant message, then click the message id link to view the report.

I believe that you should be able to figure out how to view any report that is sent to you now, at a minimum, via reconstructing the link for SITE. On our send, we will look into updating the email that is sent from the ETT backend to build the correct URL.

Thanks for your patience.

All other than Greg, since he already has done so, if you can provide the report links to me that were sent to you, for testing purposes, that would be very helpful. Thanks.

Dan,

I did the steps you suggest above. When I click on the "MDN_RECEIVED" button I get directed to a validation report at this url:

Hope that helps debug the issue.

Thanks,
Greg

We're continuing to work on this and will share an update as soon as possible (Reference ticket for our internal tracking: SITE-4554).

Hi Greg, thanks, I believe that your report is an incoming report, so if correct, to access it, either log in to SITE and then use this link:
https://site.healthit.gov/direct/messagestatus/validationreport/incoming/%3C91307037.6533.1742338845219%40lpv-hiesgwp01.co.ihc.com%3E

Or, it should be able to be found like this:
1. Go to site.healthit.gov and log in to your account (you must be logged in for this to work, and from the SITE account where the message was originally sent)
2. Navigate to Direct tooling (https://site-dev.healthit.gov/direct)
3. Navigate to Send Direct Email (https://site.healthit.gov/direct/senddirect)
4. Click the Message Status tab
5. Click the switch so that it displays Incoming instead of Outgoing
6. Look for and open the set of messages for the relevant email
7. Click the link in Message ID

8. This should open the Validation Report.
9. If it does, please let me know if the URL is the same as the URL shown above.

Note that this issue has been fixed with the 4.1.5 | 6/23/2025 SITE release.
"Generate Direct Validation Report email URL for SITE UI 4. (SITE-4554)"
