Request for EHR Direct API Documentation and Support

Hello Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I am currently working on integrating EHR Direct secure messaging features into our system. Specifically, I am looking to implement functionality related to:

  • PHI-secured email inbox access
  • Sending secure messages
  • Message transmission tracking
  • Handling failed message delivery

Could you please provide the following:

  1. API documentation for the above features
  2. Sample API requests and responses
  3. Authentication and authorization details
  4. Any sandbox or test environment access for development

This information will help us proceed with the integration smoothly.

Please let me know if any additional details are required from my side.

They have got an api documentation email to support they will send the documentation.

Dear Support Team,

I am using the Direct Send Message tool from the SITE Health IT website:
https://site.healthit.gov/direct/senddirect

While trying to send a Direct message, I am consistently receiving a timeout error.

Details of the issue:

  • Direct Address (Sender): [processed.dispatched=processeddispatched6]
  • Direct Address (Receiver): [my PHI user...@test.directproject.net]
  • HISP used: [name of HISP]
  • Error: Timeout / No response received

I would like to know:

  1. What could be the reason for this timeout error?
  2. Is this related to Trust Anchor or certificate configuration?
  3. Is there any issue with Direct email format or HISP connectivity?
  4. How can I verify if the receiver is reachable and properly configured?

Please guide me on how to resolve this issue.
