Hi All,

I am testing my CCDA document currently using the below option:
Validate CCDA with the implementation guide only.

For certification do we have to remove warnings as well?

No, for ASTP/ONC certification, you generally do
not have to remove C-CDA validation warnings. The certification testing process focuses on ensuring the document "passes" validation, which means it must be free of errors. Warnings are considered informational and are intended to help improve the quality of the file content.

The key distinction is between "errors" and "warnings":
  • Errors must be resolved for a file to "pass" validation and meet the certification requirements.
  • Warnings do not prevent a document from being considered valid for the purposes of certification, though addressing them is considered a best practice for improving data quality and interoperability.

Developers are expected to update their health IT modules to meet the new versions of standards for USCDI and the C-CDA Companion Guide as specified in the rules, with specific deadlines for compliance. However, the presence of warnings in the validation report does not automatically constitute a non-conformity that would prevent certification.
