to EDF Innovation Exchange Strategy & Planning
I would check out the Gerson Lerhman group and think about how EDF
could provide that role in the sustainability space. There is a real
need for a directory of experts on very particular sustainability
challenges. EDF could compile this directory and then charge a fee
for anyone who wished to get in touch with an expert. For instance,
lets say I have a issue with packaging. I could call the 5 leading
packaging experts in the world and spend an hour on the phone with
them, paying $400/hour for each call. EDF could make $100 out of that
$400 with $300 going to the expert. By becoming intermediary, EDF can
lower the transaction cost of doing business in the social
responsibility marketspace while creating an additional revenue
channel.
