Hello all

Happy new year and well done – you all chose a smart hobby for the
current times. We are working on the autumn issue of On Tap and are
adding an extra section to the homebrewers’ section. It will be a short
Q&A with a homebrewer. The brewer will also need to provide a high-res
image of themselves (either brewing or with a beer) and a recipe –
ideally something that is meaningful, such as an award-winner, first all
grain brew, all-time favourite, beer they’ve brewed 50 times etc. The
questions are below. I would appreciate it if you could circulate among
your members. We are back in print this year (yay) so those that are
featured will get a year’s subscription to the mag.

Here are the questions (answers should be kept to one or two sentences
per answer please!):

·When and why did you start homebrewing?

·What’s the best beer you’ve ever made?

·What is your biggest brewing disaster?

·Describe your system in a sentence.

·Do you have any brew day quirks/traditions (e.g. certain music you
play, a certain ritual, always a beer in hand, a lucky t-shirt…)?

·What would be your ultimate clone (if you could clone any beer)?

·What is your main homebrewing goal?

We will also try to do the diary if there is enough material to do so…
If you have any news or are planning any events for March, April, May or
June, please send them through. Online events can also go in. Preferred
format for events:

Bring your umqombothi for the people’s choice contest – our first time
focusing on traditional beer! All welcome to join and taste. Lethu from
Ukhamba will also do a short talk on his beers.
