Unfortunately, this is a somewhat typical scenario where an installer changes only the level 4 password. Not a whole lot you can do other than try to brute force it by trying up to 10,000 combinations, stick with 5 zones, or get a different panel. Bear in mind though that without the level 4 password you also will not be able to properly label the zones.
Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Potter, Hochiki, and Secutron are all non-proprietary, and if you buy new, you will not be locked out and can access all functions. Be aware though that most conventional panels from Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, and some from Potter output full-wave rectified power rather than DC on IDCs and NACs, which will damage any devices made by Simplex and possibly others.
Just a quick update: Using the help that was provided to me via PM, I was able to successfully get into the level 4 area of the panel and reset the password back to the default. I want to take a moment to thank those who replied to this thread. I greatly appreciate the assistance.
Hi, I am a fire alarm installer and am taking over an account with a 4010. I was hoping someone could provide me with the level 4 PW and maybe a link where I can find instructions to reprogram the DACT.
No good news on this. There is no back door around the level 4 passcode to get into a 4010. When a 4010 has a DACT installed neither the main panel nor the DACT card can be programmed through the front panel. That is locked out. Two software programs and the level 4 passcode are required to make changes to the system.
The panel programming must be done using the PC based 4010 programmer that matches the system rev in the panel. The software is protected by a key that must be attached to the computer to run the software. So bootlegging the software is of no help. A separate SDCAT programmer is required to actually program the DACT.
Good morning,
I have a Simplex4100 ES panel at one of my properties and the passcode has mysteriously been changed. How can we go about resetting the passcode without knowing what the passcode was changed to? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

My sim has a level 10 cooking skill and has an upgraded stove. No matter what she is cooking, it almost always catches fire. Yes, she does have a fear of fire trait... but what do I do so that we can eat something other than PBJ and take out? It happens on the grill as well. I had her husband cook burgers tonight to try to circumvent the issue and guess what... burned it all up and nearly caught the house on fire. It's a TAD (no really.... a lot) annoying.
Is anyone else having problems with your sims trying to cook on a stove? I've tried cooking with each of my sims and every. single. time. the oven catches on fire. I've spent almost 20,000 sim $ on new stoves My sim is the highest-level cook, and I have one of the more expensive ovens. I no longer have any mods or cheats. This just started since the new update with infant capabilities and options. All of the past threads I've read were far too old to apply to this problem- TYIA
(I've also had issues regarding infants such as bath time bubbles don't disappear from the bathtub when the task is completed or the baby constantly has a black cloud around it from when it was rummaging through cabinets, etc)

What happens when the bug occurs? Fires occur constantly since the new Growing together pack. I upgraded the fireplaces and they still catch fire. Sims are leaving the infant or toddler in the house with the fire and they don't always put the fire out. It's happening all the time, I've had 5 or 6 fires in just a few days of gameplay.
What do you expect to see? Not this many fires

Hello. I am new to the Sims forum. I wanted to say that I have a similar bug to this that is really affecting my gameplay. Fires spontaneously start around my sim, and I don't know why. It doesn't matter if she is cooking a salad, getting the mail, or even if she is in the shower or sleeping. At seemingly random times, she stops everything she is doing and catches on fire. I have to keep replacing the furniture around her, and she can't get her mail, or the fire alarms in the house won't go off, and she will die. I don't know how to fix it and would love some help.

What do you expect to see? My sims make a meal, they will use the oven or stove and then the meal will be ready and everybody will eat.

Nationwide, 14 new large fires have been identified since yesterday. Alaska has 33 active large fires, most of which are being managed under strategies other than full suppression. About 9,000 wildland firefighters and support personnel are assigned to incidents across the country. A Type 1 incident management team is assigned to Fresno June Lightning Complex in California. The Pioneer Fire in Washington, Basin Fire in California, South Fork/Salt Fires in New Mexico, and Oak Ridge Fire in Colorado each have a complex incident management team.
Significant wildland fire activity is now occurring in several geographic areas with the potential for additional large wildland fires emerging. Over the last several days, the National Interagency Coordination Center (NICC) has increased its engagement with geographic area coordination centers to fill orders for most national resource types. Furthermore, a drawdown of resources in less active geographic areas may pose a challenge if existing fuel and fire weather conditions change in those areas. Due to these factors, the national preparedness level (PL) increased to three (PL3) at 0730 MDT this morning.
A fuels and fire behavior advisory has been issued for California that highlights abnormally high fine fuel loading across the state. These abundant fuels increase the risk of wildfires spreading quickly, even without strong winds. It's imperative that we all do our part to recreate responsibly and prevent wildfires.
