Hi All,

Hope 2016 is starting out well for everyone!

After attempts to pull together those who could be on the EdcampLA org team, in December for a planning meeting, it's clear that we eneed to cancel EdcampLA this month and seek another date.

Having served on the original EdcampOC team since 2011, I know that it takes many hands and months to plan to prepare, even for a 1/2 day camp. Currently, we just don't have the time to gear up with a small team and a short 2 week time line.

Lisa Lamont will be looking for other dates on the calendar to see if we can plug in EdcampLA later this year at her site. I will also be seeking other venues. If any of you have suggestions, for venues, please share. I really believe going forward that a January date is tough to plan. So making a change, now, is good. :)

I know there are "other" conferences and potential conflicts going forward, and there will always be, but we just need to host EdcampLA in a few months/weeks, re-group, plan and enjoy those who can come and participate.

John if you could be so kind as to shut down the Eventbrite until further notice that would be great. Also if you could remove the SIGGRAPH Conference. info from the site http://www.edcampla.org/, I'd appreciate it. Let's just have it say that info will be forth coming for a new date/venue. I will update the Twitter handle and Facebook page.

Please share this change and info with your communities and we will get a new date to you all as soon as possible.

Ok, the event on Eventbrite has been shut down. We actually had one person sign up, so I noticed him of the cancellation.

Regarding the edcampla.org site, Bill Selak made those changes for me. I don't have access to that site.
