EDBA 2011-12 Post Course Batch Outing (Final Party)

Dear Batch Mates

 

Due to various circumstances, such as lectures are busy with exam duties and the monies collected were not sufficient (even for an advance payment to the hotel) we have cancelled the planned trip to Kukuleganga.

 

However in respect to the time we spent at the University and the guidance/ support we received from the academic and non-academic staffs at the Faculty, we are planning to at least have a get-together inclusive of a dinner and some give away tokens of appreciation. We are inviting all our lectures and the support staffs at the faculty.

 

The evening is planned at “Steam Boat Restaurant” in Nawala, on Saturday the 27^th July from 7PM to midnight. The venue is subjected to change based on the contributions that we will receive by this Friday.

 

Food, drinks & bites will be provided. Thus (unlike in the trip) we have an all inclusive budget for this event, where each of us have to bare the same value of Rs. 4000/-.

 

Those who have confirmed (and other who wish to participate also) please deposit your respective sums as following.,

So far monies are received from Rajapaksha, Ranasinghe, Susantha, Geethal and myself.

 

Kindly make your respective deposits by Friday, 19^th July.

 

Please mind that we have done a lot of working to find the appropriate place which fits a limited budget and still decent enough for our gathering. Therefore if you have any questions on this please do not hesitate to directly call me, and I will be glad to explain.

 

And this time, if we do not receive the minimum required sums to go ahead, we are compelled to cancel the entire event, and we will not host any in future.

 

Hope to see a positive response. If so see you all on the 27^th evening.

hi friends,  after surgery i am little bit ok now.  just now saw your e mails.  by this even before 7.0 pm, i will deposit your money but commercial bank staff does not mention anything extra other than their details.  you can track my deposit thro branch branch identification.i will deposit money from  gampaha commercial bank.

If you think that the above mentioned place is small or  costly, check about the  Mount Lavinia  Hotels Beach.  they give it for night parties. as Now i am at gampaha and i have never been to Mount Lavinia Hotel, i cant go there and check. better to call them and ask. It came to

 my mind as recently,  Seylan Bank get Together was held there. It was very nice as my husband told me.

I THINK WE SHOULD NOT PANIC TO DO IT "EHEN MEHEN" AS  ALL LECTURES  ARE NOT IN GOOD MOOD THESE DAYS AS OUR  PROJECT DELAYS AND CONSEQUENCE HAPPENINGS. 

I promise you all to give my fullest support in this regard but i need to have some more days for resting after  sudden surgery.

Dear all,

Regret for the disappointing situation due to the lack of cooperation and commitment from rest of the batch mates towards this worthy cause.

Even though, Shaif has mentioned below about an alternative plan, we have decided 'not to organize any event on behalf of the batch'.

We tried to organize this event following a common tradition. Final batch outing is not just an event seeking mere enjoyment, but it is to pay our gratitude for the teachers who guide us to explore knowledge areas where we are not good enough.

Most of you guys and gals have proved us that our way of thinking and standpoint is totally wrong.

To them, i like to thank;

• for educating us for how to pay gratitude!
• for showing us how to evade important events!
• for indicating learning together is just an incident and will not make harmony among the batch
• for providing yet another living examples of saying something to the face and act differently.

Guys and gals including 'back seat drivers' among you, thanks again and again for making this event an unsuccessful one. May you have a good life!

Dear Raja, Susa, Geethal. Jayanetti and Shaif,

I thank you comrades in differently to above. All of you are really amazing, understandable and practical. You are the real leaders. For me, executives are not 'chickenhearted' and 'slippery'. You should be the successful story and driving force of respective organizations. I salute you dear friends. May all of you continue successful carriers and sustainable prosperous future. See you at our private event.

Conclude; our lecturers must be disappointed as they had a vision with us to form an alumina of EDBA batches.
