Hey Anne,

I feel like we need a whole lot more background on it before making a decision about what to do with it. It would be great if you could tell us a bit more about what the goal is for SoE tea. Also, if you could answer questions like: Why was it at the library? Who started it? How many people typically attend? What are some of the snacks people have traditionally brought?

Thanks!

Henry

Hi all,

I hope the final week is going well.   Yay, almost 2nd year cohort!

I wanted to give you all a quick head's-up.  The SOE Tea is coordinated each year by the 2nd year cohort.  This year, I was bringing supplies to Brigget in the library but next year there will not be a library.  It is totally up to you guys how you would like to do this and Sarah McDonald can help find an available room, if you need/want it but you guys can get creative.

It could be a monthly rotation in different offices (eg-REM, Learning Science, Policy...) or a set space with a google doc for who will make coffee that week, or anything you coordinate as a cohort.  It does not need to be the same person or the same place for the whole semester.  The SOE has a budget for this but Patty McDonald does perfer to have 1 person submit receipts since it is not convenient to add every person to the department budget delegate lists.

I am happy to help with ideas but it is completely up to your cohort to decide what will work for you guys.  Please let me know (cc me on the email?) that you guys have taken on this conversation.  Nothing urgent but if I haven't heard anything I'll follow-up again in a couple of weeks, just to make sure ;)

(please forward and include anyone I might have missed)

Thanks and Happy Paper Writing!
