JULY - AUGUST - SEPTEMBER.....if you take honey off late august....they've got about 50 days.  What does it look like out there?  Anyone with 4 supers on?

One is doing great. A couple are struggling- bad queen. Our best is our foam colony.

i was concerned with everything drying out that the bees would be finding less nectar.  i think they've done remarkably well filling boxes...but i see the CRASH coming.  farmers who've cut HAY....it's gone dormant - just like our grass.  only time will tell.  here's me thinking into the next couple months.  if they've filled my boxes - thank you very much...and i take it...and WE BEEKEEPERS give them SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER to find the last blossoms of the season to fill every nook and cranny in the hive with honey for winter....

i'm actually thinking of taking the honey supers off a COUPLE WEEKS early - maybe mid august.  so they have enough time and resources to store for themselves.

the hives that are bursting with bees - i'm going to give another deep to fill after i take my honey supers off.  yes - overwinter with 3 highs again.  i really like that - cause if they make it - it makes for an "easier" spring split.

Hard to say. These bees were "happy" full of energy since we got them. They were given honey b healthy but they have the only foam suppers. So its hard to say but they have 2 full brood supers (9") and we just put a second honey super on (6"). We even took brood frames out to put into our weak colonies and will have to do it again soon. There just a huge colony and we don't want them to swarm!
