Just thought I'd mention that I'm trying Eco Wood Treatment on some woodenware. It's supposed to be good for hives. I saw some treated woodenware at Honey Bee Ware in Hortonville, and it made the pine wood look like cedar. I wasn't happy with the exterior paint I used on a hive this spring. It was low VOC and all the right stuff for the hive, but it has stayed "sticky" and it's hard to separate the empty bodies. I'm somewhat anxious of how it will be when they're full. This Eco Wood Treatment dried dry and the woodenware felt just like woodenware. No stickiness at all. It's a powder that is mixed with water and it goes on just like brushing on water. Now to see if it's as durable as they claim.
