What do you do for LATE SEASON QUEENLESSNESS....and what do you do about LATE SEASON SWARMS?

LATE SEASON QUEENLESSNESS will leave your hive empty and depleated for winter....what's the concensus out there?

Order a new queen?  What late season options are there?  Steel eggs from another hive? Combine with another hive?  please discuss....

 

and...what do you do when you get a call for a LATE SEASON SWARM?  hive them too late and there's just not enough time for

them to get it together for winter....  (on a recent call to another beekeeper - our state apiary inspector suggested:

if you have equipment...and need foundation drawn out - TAKE THE SWARM.  they likely won't make it - but by using their

"ready to make wax" state....you're not letting the resource go totally to waste) hmmm....please discuss....
