Hi everyone. I'm thinking about backpacking southwards into Peru and
visiting Macchu Picchu. Would anyone think about joining? Also if
anyone is arriving early June 18th, maybe we can meet up...

Cheers.

I'm down, I want to travel around Ecuador and/or anywhere else in the
region... I wanted to do Galapagos, but wayyyy too expensive for me at
this point in my life :-( Backpacking is perfect, buses are mad cheap
and hostels, too. I am thinking of arriving a few days before as well,
it'll either be the 17th or 18th, and I'll be flying out from either
Miami or Orlando (haven't decided which yet), so if your flight
connects through either of those we could try to coordinate so that we
get to Ecuador around the same time that day.

Hey Allison,

Yeh, traveling southwards by bus, at least to the border of Ecuador
and Peru is quite cheap. I was backpacking through Colombia last
summer, so getting around by bus shouldn't be too hard and then a
quick flight from Tumbes to Lima around $102 using a Peruvian domestic
carrier- Aero Condor Peru. As for meeting up, I will be arriving
direct from LAX the morning of the June 19th, so maybe we can set
something up once you select your date of arrival.

Cheers,

Lorenzo

Sounds good. I think I'll be flying in from Miami on the evening of
the 18th, and I'm gonna try to stay at the hotel where all the staff
are staying... So, see you there!

Hey guys. My name is Jazmin. I go to UCSB and I just wanted to
introduce myself. I was also hoping to go traveling after the program.
Also, I'm getting really excited to go.

Hi Jazmin!

I am getting super excited as well. I've been to Central America a few
times, but never South Am.! I think this program is gonna be awesome,
we're gonna get a loooot of experience. Anywho, as far as traveling
goes, the more the merrier! I am currently trying to decide how far
past the program to buy my plane ticket, do either of you have an idea
of how long you'll want to travel? I was thinking 10-14 days. Let me
know!

So guys, I just bought my plane ticket (see below). As you see, I made
my return trip out of Lima... I figured this would be best, cause that
way I don't have to make my way all the way back into Ecuador just to
fly home. Lorenzo, I know you said you're flying in on the 19th...
Jazmin, are you coming a bit early as well?

Hey Alli and Jamzmin,

So the Ecuador program is looking more promising, especially for the
travel afterwards. As for the arrival early, Ali everything looks
great, I'll see ya then. And good call on the flight out of Lima. My
flight back is out of Quito so when I purchased my flight I gave
myself an extra 10 days to take my time back and do a couple more
things in Ecuador (rainforest!!) so that means I leave from Quito
August 16th. So a quick question, does anyone have preference to do
the Inca trail to Macchu Picchu (4-7 days depending on tour group
provider) with splendid scenery or the train from Cuzco? Let me
know...

It looks like I wont be able to go travelling after the program, but I
think I am going to go early. I'm thinking Thursday the 18th.
