Thanks a lot for the info, I had similar issues although not a mac system. I was able to find the recovered files as u stated above, but the problem still persist as my c4d work keeps crashing over and over again when working on a project and it gets really annoying. I was advised to update my graphic card driver in my system and that miraculously solved the problem. I hope someone else finds this useful too.
After trying to figure out what's wrong for a few days I think I've finally worked it out (maybe?). It seems that the system is quite over-zealous when it comes to shutting itself down, any break in the opitcal audio feed and the system shuts off. The shut down process is quite slow and i was mistaking this for the system crashing.
This is handy when I turn my TV off as it means I don't need to turn the home cinema off but It seems a bit over-sensitive in that the small break in the audio feed when you press play on a Sky recording (whilst sky loads the recording) causes it to shut down. The break in the feed is maybe 1-2 seconds.

I get excited going to the cinema and normally, when going to the flicks, I'd just rock up on a given day and buy my ticket at the box office, it's what I'd done for the last film I saw during the pandemic (In The Heights, a brilliant masterpiece)
However this time I wanted to book seats next to some friends who were already going (eager to watch the latest Bond film), so I thought I'd use the amazing Odeon App and Website which "make going to the cinema even more fun", I mean what a premise your digital offering right?
If only that were true, in total, I (a digitally savvy shopper) spent just shy of 90 minutes of crashing websites, forms not working, pages loading too slowly, having to re-enter information 3-4 times and pages not designed for the right devices, I had to call a time of death and give up.
If someone from Odeon is reading this, or even if you're interested heres the small list of challenges I found the following, which are all what I'd call basic faux pas, these things can be easily rectified and are almost a minimum expectation when using a modern digital vendor.
For 18 months cinemas have had limited trade, and prior to this the industry was facing challenges in attendances (especially outside of blockbuster titles) Customers in other spheres of their shopping are being super served (supermarket retail, online shopping, social apps, even utility providers) and yet this entertainment provider hasnt yet realised the opportunity infront of them.
Make it slick & effortless to book a ticket, remember who I am, where I am, reccomend a film to me based on what you know, offer me a deal if I look like I'm falling out of my booking cycle, incentivise me to buy more than one ticket to bring a friend. It's this stuff that will make me come back more often, see more films, spend more money and make me wedded to the Odeon brand over going to Vue or Showcase or even picking one of my many streaming services and my sofa.
- Forms for registration (customer data acquisition) were poorly designed with non obvious buttons and failure to complete correctly wasn't clearly labelled.
- Despite creating an account, and providing my address, I was still asked for my location and nearest cinema a grand total of 4 times during the booking process.
- Pages both on mobile site and app are not designed for mobile very well making it hard to use the site.
- Page load roundels are hidden behind images so you dont know if a page is loading or frozen.
- Page load time at 9pm (a quiet time based on traffic insights) were up to 2-3 minutes, suggesting either the site was having some backend updates applied (which weren't made aware to customers) or that the pages are not well designed.
- You're asked to confirm if you're happy for Aut0 to validate your identity but you can only accept or cancel your regisration, this also appears in device styled notification rather than a branded Odeon one and looks very suspicicous as it's technically worded and not a user friendly message
- Seat pickers are not consistent across devices with seat availability or even screen layout, these pages are also really difficult to navigate around without interefering with your purchase.
- Mobile cookie banners interfered with page views and display.
- In emails Odeon are using dark blue font on a dark blue background meaning I can't read the links they are asking me to click on.
- Last but not least, the Odeon app was hard to find, even iOS app store ranks the German app better in searches than the UK app, despite being in the UK.

Performers and audience members dress up as the characters or in their burlesque best, dancing in the aisles, yelling out call back lines and using props to join the action on screen. Although the Williams Center asks the audience not to throw things that could damage the screen, like hot dogs, other classic props are welcome, like a newspaper to keep you dry or flashlights for when Brad and Janet get caught in the rain.
