Hi Guys,

Today I spoke to the lady at the school. They opened yesterday and she says next week she will be more involved with the group, this week is still hectic and they are still taking children in at the moment. Even from other schools.

Sibonga, is it ok if we go to open the bank acc saturday morning. There need to be at least three trustees, ie people with powers to use the funds. I need one more person to become a trustee. I plan to go to the bank Saturday morning. Nedbank seems to have the best club account set up as it needs R50 to open the account and there is no monthly fee. The account will be treated in a transparent manner. The posts will be made here in the group as we will be all raising funds together!! As soon as the account is open we should all start raising funds aggressively. We will need to decide how many schools we sponsor maybe when we see how much we can raise.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the bank account and I trust that we will be sent the details so that we can start sending money through. I will be in Eastern Cape as I told AK and I would love to make a trip at least once. I do not know how many schools we should target and since this is a pilot project, I would say we start small so that we test if our model of intervention works - it would be tragic to stretch ourselves too thin and then have that not turn out all that well. We can also think of sponsorships, personal as well as corporate, a number of us are employed I assume - if we pitch this to our colleagues, I am sure you can squeeze at least a 50 out of some which is all appreciated.

I've started spreading the word about out pilot project to some of my collegues and they are quiet keen to help out  and also spread the word about it to people they known.

I was also thinking that if we identify that one school would it be a bad idea if we also try to also develope a library for the students at that particular school so that they can have more resources to use. Please tell me what you guys think.

Thas a great idea Ncebakazi, people can actully give any study material for high school maybe.
