I don't speak French so when the line was said (and without subtitles), I thought it was "listen to me" without thinking twice. The line didn't confuse me in the conext of the scene because I thought he was getting at something like "let's talk this over" trying to get Bond to calm down and not do any more damage, and the line seems to be said in a desperate, pleadingly way. Interesting to know what he was really saying, though. Totally news to me that Madagascar is a French-influenced nation, if it wasn't English I'd have thought it was some African language. They should've put in subtitles since it sounds so much like "listen to me".
The show, which lasted over 2.5 hours including a 5-minute intermission, was still a real treat, particularly with the casino sequences and the gambling themes in decor and costuming. At one point, there was even a giant roulette wheel and table that Bond and Le Chiffre sing and dance around!
Hong Kong movie lovers have always had a love-hate relationship with Tai Seng Video Marketing, the largest US distributor of those ingeniously manic films. When these fans have exhausted the mongrel selection available in mainstream video outlets - most of which are atrociously pan-and-scanned and dubbed - they turn to Chinatown, where store shelves are stocked with Tai Seng videos. But owing to the fast-buck indifference of Hong Kong studios, the quality and accessibility of these movies are hit-and-miss - dubs are often low-grade, English subtitles unreadable or nonexistent.
