Edible Campus Program Newsletter
September 28th - October 12th | Week 1 |

Hello Edible Campus Program Members!

Happy Week 1 of University!

Below, we have some opportunities for the next 2 weeks, highlighting that we have lots of volunteer events and fun workshops. We even have a growing your own microgreen workshop where you can take home your own fresh produce. Under workshops, we also have a basic needs survey that helps UCSB understand what is needed from our students, so filling that out will be greatly appreciated. The appendix below will show how our newsletter will be formatted. Thank you!

Basic Needs Survey

We value your well-being and want to better understand how our current basic needs programs are supporting you. To better assess familiarity and utilization, we invite you to participate in our Basic Needs Survey for 2026-2027. Garden Plots Available!

The Greenhouse and Garden Project is offering garden plot memberships for ANYONE interested in growing their own plants, flowers & crops. Garden plots are a great way to grow vegetables/fruits you can’t find anywhere else.  They are a great outlet to get started with gardening and are also a great place for experienced gardeners. If you are interested in getting involved with our garden community, please email Seth at ghgp...@gmail.com. Our membership fee is only $40 per year and gets you access to land, water, mulch, manure, and a robust tool shed.   We also ask that members volunteer in the garden 2 hrs each quarter. GHGP provides plots to staff, faculty, and students, and we have ample space for all three communities. We hope to see you in the garden soon!

___________________________________________________

Thank you for your constant support for the Edible Campus Program; we would not have it without our community.

We hope to see you soon at any of our events!
