Dear Edible Campus Community,

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF WINTER QUARTER! We hope you are embracing this new start and enjoying all the changes that come along with a new year and a new quarter. We have lots of exciting events in store for you this quarter!

------------
1) "I.V. Green" w/ Associated Students - FREE Gardening Classes All Winter Long!
This quarter, dig into something new! Join us for a free intro to gardening series designed specifically for college students. Whether you're hoping to grow fresh herbs on your windowsill or start your own garden plot in Isla Vista, you'll learn the basics of planting, caring for, and harvesting your own produce. All skill levels are welcome!

These classes will be held on Fridays from 1-2pm throughout the quarter. Make sure to fill out the registration form no later than this Sunday, January 11 if you are interestedSpots are limited!

2) Upcoming Workshops
You can check out our full workshop calendar here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1n6uP7mvqe1YGF7Jg7gvm7jOc0pbeLqsdXPCGEZFPlUw/edit?tab=t.0. Be on the lookout as more workshops get added throughout the quarter! See below for out first two workshops of the quarter:

Soul Care: Scrapbook Vision Boarding
Start the new year with purpose! Join us for a relaxing morning of planning out personal and academic goals through your own scrapbook-style vision board. Through guided reflection and creative expression, participants will be able to set meaningful goals and create a lasting reminder of what they want to achieve in the year ahead.

📅 Date: Wednesday, Jan. 12 @ 5PM - 6PM
📍 Location: St. Michael's Community Garden
Bloom in a Bottle
In this hands-on, reflective workshop, we’ll explore what it takes for a plant to grow—and how those same elements help us thrive as people. Just as plants need nourishment, space, light, and care, we’ll consider what helps us flourish. In this workshop, you will use a variety of upcycled and repurposed materials to create a home for your new plant to grow in. Join us to cultivate insight, creativity, and a renewed appreciation for the ways we grow—inside and out. This event is co-hosted with Gauchos Go Green and the Nature Wellbeing Program.  Please consider bringing an upcycled container that you could grow a plant in.  Extra containers will be provided for anyone that doesn't have one.  Soil and seeds will also be provided. Learn to grow and care for yourself alongside your plant for the new year.

📅 Date: Friday, Jan. 16 @ 3PM - 4PM
📍 Location: St. Michael's Community Garden

Our first SML starting THIS WEEK will be at Methodist Community Garden on 1/10 from 11-1pm. Sign up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdhoIg6EZGl-aAovVMUH3x-lIy8Z1FclA1vHt6WhHo8iLcYug/viewform
