Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and n-ost are pleased to invite you to participate in our upcoming workshop on climate journalism in Dushanbe from 4-8 June, 2023. The workshop is designed to equip journalists with the necessary skills and knowledge to report on climate change and its impacts on Central Asia, specifically in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
As a participant in the workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field of climate science and journalism. The workshop will be conducted in English, which will be the working language of the program.
To apply for the workshop, we would like you to provide a pitch about a possible story you would like to write during the workshop. Your pitch and possible article should be related to the topics we have provided, with a focus on the specific issues in your country.
The topics that your article should be related to are:
1 Global warming and extreme climate events in Central Asia
2 Climate change impacts assessment on agricultural production
3 Future state of water availability in Central Asia
4 Climate Adaptation in Mountainous Central Asia

We will evaluate the pitches and select the participants for the workshop based on the quality of the pitch and the potential of the story. The deadline for submission is next Tuesday, 11 April, 12.00 (CET).
