Hi Germaine,
I’m hosting a two-day High Performance Handgun class with AJ Zito and Tim Herron at Gold Camp Shooting Sports in Cripple Creek, Colorado.
Class details
- Dates: Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, 2026
- Time: 8:00 AM–5:30 PM both days
- Location: Gold Camp Shooting Sports

- Class size: Limited to 10–14 students
- Tuition: $670
- Range fee: An additional $60 range fee is due to the host on the first day of class.
- Registration:
This class is built around practical pistol skills that help shooters plan stages more confidently, solve problems efficiently, and improve their performance under time pressure. It will also cover how to structure productive practice, identify weaknesses, and get more value from range time.
Day 1 will include student skill assessment, group shooting and untimed accuracy, the Practical Skills Test, grip and hand placement, draw and presentation, sight and trigger-confirmation levels, and decision-making around distance, difficulty, and risk.
Day 2 will cover movement fundamentals, lateral and uprange/downrange movement, shooting on the move, and aiming strategies for difficult static and moving targets.
Required equipment
- 800 rounds of ammunition
- Reliable pistol, with a backup pistol recommended
- At least three magazines
- Holster and magazine pouches
- Eye and ear protection
- Range bag and normal day-at-the-range gear
- Weather gear appropriate for Colorado in August: rain gear, sunscreen, hat, jacket, gloves, etc. Please prepare for changing weather.
- Students should plan to bring their own lunch both days.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations after July 1, 2026 will result in a $400 withdrawal fee if the seat cannot be filled. Cancellations before that date may receive a refund less the 3% payment-processing fee.
