WCPS Monthly Steel Challenge Match, December 6, 2025

Weld County Practical Shooters will be hosting our monthly Steel Challenge match on Saturday December 6, 2025, at the Weld County Fish & Wildlife, High Plains Shooting Range, Eaton, CO.  

A maximum of 104 competitors (8 squads of 13 on 8 stages) or 13 guns per squad will be allowed to register through Practiscore.  No walk-up registrations or changes at the match.  There is a two-gun limit (Any combination of a Rimfire pistol, Rimfire rifle, Centerfire pistol, or PCC).  The match fee is $20 for WCFW members and $25 for non-members and $5 more for a second gun.  Please pay on Practiscore.  

For this month's match I am substituting SCSA Provisional stages for "Outer Limits" & "Speed Option".  See attached WSB's & stage diagrams.  The other six stages are official Steel Challenge stages.

The following match administrative information applies:

Stage setup starts at 7:30 AM.

Match check in starts at 9:00 AM in the pistol classroom.

New Shooters Class also starts at 9:00 AM at the pistol pavilion.  

Shooters Meeting 9:45 AM at the pistol pavilion. 

Shooting starts at 10:00 AM.

If you are a new shooter to USPSA/SCSA you must attend the new shooters class prior to shooting the match. Details on the program can be found here: http://www.ecouspsa.com/safety_program.  Please email the Match Director and Range Master your contact information so we can plan accordingly for the New Shooters class.

If you must withdraw from the match, we will offer you a full refund up until 6:00 PM on Friday December 5, 2025, when registration closes. Once registration is closed, no refunds or future match credits will be granted.

To maximize security, the High Plains Shooting Range now uses a rotating gate code number system for non-members to gain access to the range. The code for this match will be provided to each competitor within their Practiscore registration confirmation email.  The gate code number will be activated at 6:00 AM and deactivated at 10:30 AM Saturday morning.  If you are shooting this match and are a non-member, enter the assigned match gate code number into the keypad at the front gate during the prescribed time period to open the gate for access.  Please do not share this code with anyone not participating in the match.  Weld County Fish & Wildlife, High Plains Shooting Range members should swipe their membership gate card to enter the range. 

Lastly, please Do Not exceed the 15mph maximum speed limit while on range roads and 5mph in parking lots.

I'm currently monitoring this week's weather forecast.  Although it's been real cold, temperatures are looking more favorable towards the end of the week.  Therefore, I'm holding off registration until Wednesday, December 3 at 4:00 PM incase the weather/temperature forecast gets worse.  When registration opens, please use the following Practiscore link:

Hello All,

High Plains Shooting Range exceeded its forecasted snow amount last night and it's still snowing this morning.  With the low temperatures projected for Thursday/Friday range conditions will not improve enough to conduct our match this Saturday.  Therefore, we are cancelled and we'll try again January 3, 2026.
