Dear colleagues, hello! It's exciting to see that the EcoTypes survey has been completed over 1000 times so far this fall!...
go here for a simple stat summary (and feel free to share with students via
bit.ly/ecotypes2425).
I'm currently teaching with EcoTypes myself, and for my benefit as well as yours I produced a few resources for instructors. Here's a reminder:
- The Instructor FAQ page is the most important one to read. It provides background and recommendations for how best to use EcoTypes learning resources. Also, the EcoTypes FAQ page includes some advanced information of benefit to instructors: see e.g. “What is the theory underlying EcoTypes?” and “How does the EcoTypes approach compare with others?”
- Many of you deploy the EcoTypes survey: the survey report FAQ, which we recommend to students, is also potentially helpful to instructors. If you're curious what the survey includes, I have a PDF of each page plus one-page overview here. And here is a PDF of a typical survey report if helpful.
- Some of you are following up after the survey with the interactive Going Deeper with MCJD (Many Care, Just Differently) form: here is a PDF of each page of that form, with a one-page overview. Some pages may be difficult for your students to fully grasp without your help!...see the theory FAQ above, and encourage your students to follow the Preparation section on the MCJD page.
I'm curious to hear more about how *you* prepare to teach using EcoTypes, and how you prepare your students for maximum learning benefit! Feel free to reply with your thoughts or questions.
Regards,
Jim P.
