Dear all, I have a few resources—for instructors only—that I wish to share with you:
  • A PDF of the online 2024-25 EcoTypes survey
  • A PDF of a sample 2024-25 survey report
Whether you are new to EcoTypes or have used it extensively, these should help you get started in 2024-25!

I'll soon distribute a PDF of the followup MCJD form. The current survey is quite quick (~20 min), so the followup form is a more extended reflection assignment, customized with each student's survey results.

Regards,

Jim

Hello again! I've now saved for instructors a PDF of the followup form; please see the cover page or here for background and recommendations.

If your students enter their email (optional) at the end of the EcoTypes survey, they will automatically receive an invitation with a custom link directly to this followup form, or they can always go to this page (under Going Deeper menu) and enter their survey entry key to retrieve the followup form—whether or not they provided their email on the survey.

For those who haven't used the EcoTypes followup form yet in their classes, I strongly recommend it. The form is self-guided, interactive, and preloaded with the student's survey results. As conveyed to students, “In this form, you’ll think a bit more deeply about your survey results, and you’ll imagine others who might differ from you.” It's a structured but long form, with estimated time of 90 minutes, and students receive an email summarizing their answers, which they can save and share with you to receive credit.

In my experience, the EcoTypes survey and report can be a rather TMI experience for the student without this followup form, which gives them structured time to think through their results. And the larger intent of EcoTypes—to more systematically understand and navigate environmental difference—is what the followup (I now call it "MCJD," for "Many Care, Just Differently") form is about.

Please give the followup form a look and consider including it in your classes!

[One final note: I was alerted that the survey PDF did not properly share; please try accessing it again.]

Thank you,

Jim P.
