Dear all, greetings and happy new year! As you know, we've been migrating the EcoTypes site to a new server host, and we are finally ready to switch over next week! Please read the below carefully, and be in touch as needed, esp. so I can fine-tune the timing to minimize disruption.
  • The site will be temporarily offline as it figures out where the new host is...this shouldn't be more than a few hours maximum disruption.
  • I need to schedule a two-hour time in which the EcoTypes survey and followup MCJD form will be unavailable, while I transfer records to the new site. Please let me know if you are planning on your students completing one of these forms next week, and give me time details...I'll do my best to avoid time conflicts.
There should be relatively minimal disruption other than the above, as the new site has been tested already. When all is done, I'll send out another email with an update, plus a reminder of new resources, such as the simulated dialogue opportunity!

As usual, if you plan to use the EcoTypes survey in future, get in touch and I can give you a group code for your students to use, then I'll send you all (anonymized) data for your classroom use.

Thank you,

Jim P.

Dear all, we have now transferred ecotypes.us to a new host. If your students experienced disruption over the last hour or so, all is now complete. (You may know that web browsers store their own local cache, so if students had an issue in the last hour or so, they may need to empty their browser cache.)

Are you new to EcoTypes, or haven't used it in some time? There are all sorts of recent improvements and resources on the EcoTypes site; here are just a few.
  • There are now 12 EcoTypes: each includes a description, idealized persona, and sample SDG priority.
  • The most fundamental level of EcoTypes, the 12 EcoTypes axes, now have an additional, in-depth resource page summarizing each.
  • The followup MCJD ("many care, just differently") form has been updated and simplified following your input.
  • All existing resources (e.g., the SDG Mosaic card game) are still available...*and*...
  • ...there is a new resource for 2025-26: a simulated dialogue opportunity. Just like the MCJD form, this resource is customized with the participant's survey results in mind.
I urge you to read the Instructor FAQ for more information and guidance. If you do choose to use EcoTypes this coming year, make sure to email me so we can finalize a group code, then I can send you anonymized data for your class. And if any further questions, feel free to be in touch.

Regards,

Jim P.
