Dear colleagues, hello and happy 2025! Here are some EcoTypes resources to aid your use in classes:
EcoTypes FAQ: Broad overview for you and students, including details on theory ("What is the theory underlying EcoTypes?") and methodology ("How does the EcoTypes approach compare with others?").
Instructor FAQ: More specific guidance for instructors, so that you fulfill your own educational objectives while making full use of what is available via EcoTypes.
And a few general reminders and updates for 2024-25, for those who have used EcoTypes in past:
While not required, a group code allows me to share anonymized survey data with you. Please get in touch with me to finalize a code, then remind your students to select it toward the start of the survey.
This page offers an overview of new EcoTypes as of this academic year, plus a retrospective analysis using 2023-24 survey data (n = 3372).
This page (bit.ly/ecotypes2425) offers simple summary statistics of all EcoTypes surveys completed so far during 2024-25 (current n > 2000).
There is a new post-survey followup form for 2024-25, focusing on an important EcoTypes consideration: that "many care, just differently" (MCJD).
And for 2025, I'm piloting a new AI-based conversation procedure as a way for students to explore their complementary (opposite) EcoType. I've added a link to this procedure to aid the imagined conversations students have toward the end of the followup MCJD form.
Thank you, and feel free to be in touch as needed.
