Dear colleagues, happy July! As mentioned on 20 May, I am revising the EcoTypes survey for 2024-25; see this page for an extended overview, rationale, and analysis.

I now have a draft version of the 2024-25 survey available, and would really appreciate if you tried it out. You may access it via the above link, or go to Survey > Survey Report FAQ on the EcoTypes menu, where I've sorta hidden the survey, survey FAQ, and retrieve survey report pages for now.

As the rationale page explains, this new survey was largely motivated by a change in how we will assign Knowledge subtypes. The resultant EcoTypes may be a bit easier for your students to understand. There are other changes too: most notably, all 24 axis statements are now simplified onto 12 graphical sliders (rather than Likert agree/disagree scales), which your students may find more fun and understandable as well.

I will in time update all documentation on the site to correspond to these new EcoTypes, but for now want to make sure the new survey is functional and the report reasonably clear, so if you have a few minutes please try it out, then feel free to email me directly with feedback/questions.

Thank you in advance for your support, and looking forward to finalizing the 2024-25 EcoTypes survey by late July, so that you can use it as soon as early August.

Regards,

Jim P.

Dear all, you may recall my announcement from early July (below) re. the 2024-25 EcoTypes survey. I am finalizing the survey, followup reflection form, and website resources with a goal of publishing them around Aug 1. As a result, there will be some brief downtime with the EcoTypes survey and followup form over the next week.

If you are an instructor and planning to use these resources in your classes this coming year, please be in touch and we can assign your class a group code, then I will be happy to send you anonymized student data for course use.

Thank you for your participation, and I'll be in touch once everything is updated.
