Dear colleagues, as you may know EcoTypes is being used in international locations, and we have been working on manual translations of the site, survey, and other resources this summer.
We have, however, recently encountered obstacles beyond our control, and are now testing a new approach on the EcoTypes site: Google Translate, which auto-translates any web page on the fly. Translations are not perfect, but they are quick, and this may be a more realistic solution.
You and your students will now see a temporary banner announcing this test; they can easily dismiss the banner by clicking anywhere on the page. For now, we have enabled only major European languages, but we can readily add others.
(There is a conflict between our current translation approach and this new one, such that the language switcher may not show up on certain pages; this will disappear once we fully make the switch.)
If you or your students have any feedback whatsoever, we would very much appreciate. The easiest way to give feedback is to use our EcoTypes
question form.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Regards,
Jim P.
PS — A reminder that we now have a
data summary (N currently 668) for all 2023-24 surveys so far.
