Sir/Madam,

The following revisions have been made to the ‘Pre-synopsis Seminar and Examination’ rule (9.1), which came into effect from the Autumn Semester 2025–26:

• The student must submit the draft thesis as the Pre-synopsis report at the time of pre-synopsis presentation to the RPC. The RPC should certify that the draft thesis submitted by the student is ready for the final thesis submission within 4 months.
• The synopsis and final thesis of the student, along with the required submission documents, must be submitted to the DPGC/IDPC/PGC within four months of a ‘SATISFACTORY’ pre-synopsis presentation. If the student fails to submit the thesis within this period, the Ph.D. registration shall be suo moto cancelled. The Repeat Pre-synopsis Presentation shall no longer be permitted.
• If the pre-synopsis seminar presentation is ‘UNSATISFACTORY’, the student should present the pre-synopsis seminar again within FOUR months. The Ph.D. registration of a student shall be suo-moto cancelled if, (i) student fails to present the repeat pre-synopsis within four months OR (ii) on two consecutive "UNSATISFACTORY" pre-synopsis presentations.

Kindly inform the students of your Department about the above-mentioned revisions and advise them to strictly adhere to the same.
