I just read an article this morning where the latest technology being shown to the auto companies involves the remote being able to talk to your smart phone.  You will be able to interface with your car from your phone.  You will be able to start it, set the A/C or heat, check the fuel level, tire pressure, next service required, unlock the doors, check theft alarm, etc etc. sounds great but the only thing that bugs me is the rapid obsolescence of technology.  As smart phones change, OS get upgraded etc the technology in your car will be obsolete about the time you get it paid off.

There have been some remote start systems that you can interface with your phone for a bit.  I would think that even as the smartphones OS changes, they would still be able to run older software for this.  Would be pretty simply software.
