BLOOD MILK
Alarming and conclusive information has surfaced that the international dairy giant Nestle is exclusively purchasing their milk in Zimbabwe from dairy farms owned by Grace Mugabe, the wife of tyrant Zimbabwean dictator (President) Robert Mugabe, thereby placing more profits into the pockets of these blood thirsty dictators. It is no wonder that sanctions imposed on Mugabe in his person is proving of little or no effect as long as multinationals like Nestle keep lining his purse.
Grace Mugabe obtained these prime dairy producing farms in Zimbabwe during the bloody and controversial land grab of farms from their legitimate owners who over generations built and developed these farms at their own costs into the productive commercial farming units that they are today. Some farmers and their loyal workers died in the process, most have been displaced and many of the farmers have fled Zimbabwe for fear of theirs and their families safety, leaving behind their legally obtained heritage, blood sweat, farming implements, personal belongings, and their loyal and trusted farm workers who are all displaced and destitute today.
Mugabe claimed then and is still doing so to the less than 100 commercial farmers in Zimbabwe today, that he and his ZANU (PF) government are merely reclaiming the land that was stolen by white settlers centuries ago. Not a single dispossessed farmer has been compensated for his land, their improvements, animals or crops on the field, or implements on the farms at the time. The farmers and their workers had to flee and were not even permitted to remove their personal belongings and clothes.
Since this inhuman justice was meted out by Mugabe on his own countrymen and citizens, with the decline of Zimbabwe’s agricultural export based economy, the entire Zimbabwe economy and country’s infrastructure and services has gone to ruin, on a scale never before seen in the world.
The five farms that Grace Mugabe, and the thousands others of his cronies and henchmen were handed for free were obtained in exactly this fashion, at the cost of many lives, and the tears, existence and livelihood of a few hundred thousand Zimbabweans.
SANCTIONS
Zimbabwe’s present day woes can hardly be ascribed to any significant sanctions imposed against the country. While this crisis was unfolding in front of the worlds eyes and camera’s, the only retaliation from the liberal caring free world, was through America and Britain imposing asset freezes on the untold billions of dollars of Mugabe and a few of his cronies that they had stashed away abroad. The only other retaliatory measure was to impose puny and unworkable travel sanctions on a handful of individuals which has had little to no effect on their movements as they travel under cover of official diplomatic protection anyway.
GROSS MISJUSTICE
There is hardly a soul on earth that will disagree that Mugabe and his henchmen are demons beset at destroying their own country, the welfare, and lives of their own citizens. More than half the Zimbabwean population has fled the country out of desperation to escape the consequences of this mad man. Mugabe is however old and decrepit, many describe him as a senile despot no longer capable of reasoned intellect. The driving force behind him is his security force strongmen, but most importantly, he is being agitated and spurred on by his not so gracious, greedy and ruthlessly calculating wife, Grace.
INTEGRITY & ETHICS
It is astonishing and alarming that an internationally renowned and supposed to be respectable company such as Nestle conducts business with this tyrant woman and the wife of the most possessed dictator the world has ever seen. It is more alarming that the company after having now been exposed is attempting hide their quest for foreign profits under the guise that they are purchasing Grace Mugabe’s ill gotten blood tainted milk under the pretext that they are serving the interests of the down trodden and poor desperate people of Zimbabwe. They can possibly not be doing nobody else than Grace Mugabe a favour.
Nestlé, which is the largest customer of Grace Mugabe's dairy farm claims that “it is not obliged to comply with any sanctions aimed at the ruling elite of Zimbabwe, as its headquarters are in Switzerland”. Switzerland, one of the most liberal and humanist countries in the world, “has its own set of measures”, but Nestlé insists it has not broken Swiss law.
BOYCOTT
The only way in which the civilised, free and democratic world can convince a multinational company such as Nestle to reconsider their extremely foolish and dubious profit driven intentions in this once prosperous country, is for reasonable people to vote democratically in the only fashion at our disposal and that can possibly make an impression on Nestle. Consumers all over the world are urged to where possible boycott the products of Nestle until they realise the ill and wrong of their ways by propping up the household and income of the murderous insane Mugabe family.
Every citizen of the world who cares about the fate of Zimbabwe and its people should be filled with revulsion at what Nestle is about, in conflict with general world opinion. You are encouraged and kindly requested to spread this message across the world for everybody to contribute and make an impact, until such time and as soon as possible, Nestle announces their resolve and rectification of their immoral support for the Mugabe regime.
Please pass on to as many contacts across the world as you can, your concern is appreciated.
Kind regards,
Human Rights Organisation for Zimbabwe
