Hello friends,
Starting Nov 10th, I am facilitating a 4-part gathering (on Monday evenings at 7pm est) around the question of, ‘What if we can balance our climate quickly, naturally, safely?’
I know most of you have an informed response to this question, and some of you have been doing amazing work in this space for a long time!
So, I am wondering: can we use this opportunity as a collective experiment?
What would it look like if each of us had our own local discussion group?
For example, who are those strategic people you’d like to bring into this conversation of climate as a living system?
Who is that person you might want to discuss these ideas with over the holidays and into next year?
Perhaps a colleague, a friend, a family member, a contact in local government or in a related NGO?
Who do you know who also cares about nature, food, animals, plants; hasn’t had the time to engage with these ideas; but might find it profoundly helpful?
(I’ve sent the invite to my own climate org here in Central Wisconsin, and previous colleagues in Australia.)
Several of you have already seen my talk (some of you several times!), and a common response is: ‘Wow, that was a really helpful way of sharing these complex ideas very simply in a story – thank you.’
So, together, how can we extend this conversation?
I can imagine a scenario where you could invite one or two people who are new to the topic, and then – for example - in the middle of the week, you can have your own face-to-face coffee catch-up, or meal, with them to revisit the ideas we discuss as a large group on Monday.
The presentation – and the dialogue we’ll have over the course of four Monday nights - starts at the basics: why are we warming, why does a living landscape matter, what have we done, why do we focus on carbon, and what can we do. The hope is that this 4-part series could be a catalyst for growing the conversation in your circles and community.
If the timing is right, I hope to meet you and your friend, family member, colleague soon.
