Hi Jon and Michael
Thank you for your interest shown today in my offer of a course delivery to ‘The Commons’ for ‘All To Share.’
Someone I don’t remember who once said, “if it’s free, it has no value!”
An extant capitalist, no doubt.
I have now occupied almost 65 years of interest in natural history. Being an observer, a researcher, a student (ongoing), teacher and masters apprentice.
I have been fortunate to have spent time with Len Webb and Geoff Tracy, Joe Connell, colleagues from the Bishop Museum, Bill Mollison, Peter Andrews, Haikai Tane, Willy Ripl, Michal Kravik, Jan Pokorny, Ariel Salleh, Stuart Hill, Charles Birch and Maude Barlow to name but a few.
All have taught me important lessons. Most are publicly acknowledged in the Tarwyn Park Training 4 Day Course that I developed.
I have full ownership of that course material and currently, students who want to do the course need to part with more than $2500 for the 4 days.
My observations to date see many enthusiasts following a particular discipline.
This course has only one Progenitor. Mother Nature. Cliched. But true.
Einstein said many things, but one thing he did say was something like this, “ Complexity is open systemed (sic); it’s not linear and reductionist.” And if the complexity can be explained simply, then this is truly praiseworthy”.
A Complex issue…..Simply stated is….. Sunlight+Water+Plants---àBiomass= Life. ☀️💦🌲 It’s NOT Soils, Grazing animals, Agriculture, etc etc etc
It is ‘A SYSTEM of Systems’ ~ Ecosystems, which run from the Mountains to the Sea; or put another way, from Forestry to Aquaculture; OR from any HIGH point on the terrain running down to low point on the system.
This system Nature has created has given rise to “ A stepped threshold, diffusion system of BROADACE HYDROPONICS” – THE MOST productive biomass system ever conceived by Mother Nature.
And if you have a shovel or a hoe, if you can put a mulch heap or fertility source at the top of your system, and introduce water to run thru the top of the mulch pile…..then you will have kick-started the system which Nature will now aggrade and build using the vast amounts of Free energy from the Sun; the nutrients in the Atmosphere in unlimited amounts for Free; the RAIN when it falls from the sky, for Free and Gravity working 24/7 to move water and fertility and matter across and down the system, Free!
This is Nature ‘s winning QUADRELLA!! Every farmer should be as rich as the Aga Khan.
How do we collectively get these simple messages out to the world who are crying OUT for solutions???
With NO other AGENDA other than to prevent ecosystem collapse.
Warm Regards
Duane

Connecting People, Places and Things in Washington D.C. for Planet Repair Pathways for Glocal Actions and Stories
Providing digital and in-person systems, events and other opportunities to be part of repairing 🛠️ and regenerating 💧 🌱 our planet. We concentrate on co-creating and evolving community-led progress with circular, regenerative projects and contagious solutions.
We’re also building a free, digital public library for glocal Gaian 🌍 stories from the past, present and future that help all of us as stars shine brighter together — with 3 floors: (1) artful and oral storytelling 💃🏼 🎙️ (audible, musical, familial, shows, etc.); (2) written, printed storytelling 📰 📚 📸(i.e., books, poems, comics, photography, etc); (3) multimedia storytelling 🎥 🖥️ 📱 (i.e., documentaries, movies, tv shows, youtube, social media, etc.). It will start digital and then local physical locations (alongside performances and other story showcases ) — which will forge replicable models to duplicate through 🐝 pollination and become contagious. Our story libraries will play a major role in accelerating our shared regenerative and circular coronation 👑 .
Across all our operations and support systems (like the library, Connectory and Leagues), we focus on 4 interconnected areas of regen systems change stories and actions:
- [1] Ecorestoration 🌳🌻& Water 💦 🌊 (+ biodiverse growth of land/aquatic life)
- [2] Regenerative Food Systems 🍲 🍎 🧃🍻
- [3] Circular Business 🏭 💻 & Buildings 🛖🏙️
- [4] Tech for Renewable Energy⚡️ & Climate Restoration (GGR, CDR 💨)
These categories of actions can fit into one or several of these 5 horizontal categories: Mitigation, Adaptation, Circularity, Regeneration & Climate Restoration.

Dear All: I want to add my Regenerative Health for A Climate Changing World model, with its Cultural Library of Regenerative Health Resources, to your thinking.
This model grew out of Climate Change & Consciousness and is also affiliated with the University of Edinburgh Planetary Health Lab.
I am happy to speak to it in detail at the appropriate time.
I am about to launch an MA/PhD curriculum in Regenerative Health for A Climate Changing World.

I also worked for a while with Carnegie Mellon's library system and would be interested to contribute to this effort. Let me know if something comes together. I'd love to be included.

Please include me in discussing all library opportunities as I've had many conversations and strategic planning with folks about Regen Libraries (first digital and then in-person focusing on bioregions and biocultures)... I even bought several URLs that provide a regenerative trifecta for enabling individuals, communities and organizations to explore "Pathfinding" for regeneration... and those pathways are created and reinforced by both the RegenStories and RegenActions – creating a cycle of continuous growth (see more details at end of email and attached draft logos I made in picture).
- pathfinding.earth (I need a small amount of funds to buy this one...already bought other two and started web design on Wix)
- regenstories.earth
- regenactions.earth
All of this perhaps should be piloted through ERA – and we should discuss with allies Jamaica and Kaiti at Open Future Coalition.
I am working on a slide deck and related documents that explain how I plan to do this with others in the Washington DC, municipal/regional context (originally I started designing for Amsterdam, but will be moving out from here, and want to pilot in US East Coast cities instead). At Our Planet Our Future, it's possible that we integrate these library plans with our initiative called "Regenerating Soil, Trees and Communities", as well as efforts by Hot Planet Repair Team (including our Connectory model) and our circularity tech licensed by Carbotura called Recyclotrons (which will be integral to untrashing ecosystems so they can then be restored afterwards).

I like hearing library talk. I like compiling resources. I have a very large personal library (hard copies) for Ecosystem Restoration, Drylands, Agroforestry and Regenerative Agriculture. A bit of the books I have written have some parts of them in pdf format.
My library can be open to the public but that is only useful to people in western Washington.
Here is my Dryland’s Library bibliography online. 206 books.
https://www.librarything.com/catalog/FriendsoftheTrees
I don’t have the time to focalize an ERA library service but I could be of help lining up resources.
I will mention that the Ecosystem Restoration Camps Information Exchange KEx is curating a large compilation of written material. I have not explored it really. Andrew Langford of Gaia University is the main curator. Curated Articles
