Hello everybody,

This article: ''Amazon forest loss leads to measurable drop in regional rainfall''. While the effects are much more dramatic than stated in this article, at least scientific researchers are discovering more and more the obvious that deforestation leads to less rain. Douglas Sheil and others already published on this nearly a decade ago. No mention of temperature increase (a child understands that if you cut down trees and have less rain, an area in the tropics heats up...).

Current science is simply too slow, too timid, too academically wired in to have a real impact on the climate crisis to support the required urgency to avert global collapse.

I think the solution can be phrased with one simple sentence:

We can fight the climate crisis effectively by reviving the biosphere, everywhere, by everyone!

Massive CO2 sequestration will be a large part of the effect, especially by reviving ocean biology.

I have tried to summarize a proposal to fight the climate crisis in this short substack paper.

Hope we can get consensus on the way forward, the collapse of our societies is clearly underway, still on a gradual downward slope in most places, but at some point tipping-points will accelerate the situation dramatically. The current pace of understanding and right action is obviously one of the lethal variety: ''too little, too late''. It is up to us to wake the world up to solutions that are right now not well understood.

Onward!

Always impressed by your being across the possibilities, Rob. Yet the real politic is still missing from our conversation. I guess that needs to occur in the offices of politicians, but also in the public square where people's attention is on how they are going to give their family the best of the world. I do hear of best approaches to the whole issue of improving public discourse, I'll have to go back through some of my favourite podcasters one day to identify these.

cheers
