I curate a blog with writings from ERA members. This is our latest blog post written by El Habib Benamara from Algeria. He writes about how traditional peoples once knew how to create cool and liveable homes in the desert, both inside and around the home. With colonization this knowledge has been forgotten and desert dwellers resort to energy consuming air conditioning units like everywhere else in the world. We could learn a lot from traditional knowledge.
