  • The story approach to understanding random variables
  • Probability distributions that are widely used in statistics and data science
  • How to make good predictions and think conditionally
  • Problem solving strategies
  • Using R to run simulations and solve probability problems
  • Construct estimators using method of moments and maximum likelihood, and decide how to choose between them
  • Quantify uncertainty using confidence intervals and hypothesis testing
  • You'll learn how to perform Machine Learning tasks such as Linear and Logistic Regression in R.

This is an excellent program for:

  • those who are preparing for MA (Econ) entrances or
  • those who are currently pursuing MA or PhD (Econ)
  • those who are teaching or doing research in Economics

and are interested in learning probability and statistics with R.
