Greetings from The Economics Department, Lady Shri Ram College!

We are proud to announce that we are simulating a day-long session of the Planning Commission for students across colleges in Delhi.

Date: 26 October 2013

Time: 9 AM to 4 PM

Venue: Lady Shri Ram College, Lajpat Nagar IV, New Delhi

The simulation is designed to enable a better understanding of policy and development issues among students. It is aimed at bringing out innovative and original ideas in the context of the 12th Five Year Plan. This calls for extensive research and sharp analytical ability on part of the participating students.

RULES FOR TEAM APPLICATION:

1. Each team must consist of TWO participants

2. Participants can be of any college, course and year.

3. Cross-college teams are allowed.

The competition has a preliminary round in which participants are required to register and answer a question mentioned in the following link:

On this basis, 12 teams (24 delegates) will be shortlisted. Selected teams will be intimated via email.

The deadline for filling in this form is 19th October 2013.

IMPORTANT DETAILS FOR THE SIMULATION:

It will be an agenda based simulation involving 12 divisions. The agenda will be disclosed to the finalists.

Each selected team will represent one division of the Planning Commission. On being shortlisted, teams will be allotted a division based on their preferences (via mail). The allotment will be final and binding.

The daylong simulation of the Planning Commission will involve well researched agenda presentations, analyzed budget allotments and moderated inter-sectorial discussions. More details will be given prior to the event.
