20 brave members of our trekking club completed the Escape "Road"
between Kodai and Munnar over the past long weekend. Trekking in the
dark through scary forests and muddy ghat roads, clearing fallen tree
branches from the road, crossing breeched dams, walking through cold
rivers, climbing never-ending mountain slopes, trekking through pine
and eucalyptus forests, sliding down steep mountain inclines,
challenged by continuous rain and blood-sucking leeches, trekking
through and above the clouds, enchanting misty valleys, surviving
shivering nights and playing uno.

the info part: this is between the berijam lake near kodai and the
pambadum sholai national park / top station near munnar .... abt 2
days trek. need to carry all the supplies

i alrdy have a guide contact but permission seems to be an issue ...

this is perhaps the best time to go ... with summer rains it wont be a hard trek

how abt the weekend after vishu?

I think I know a person there in the forest office who can arrange permission and guide as well.
Let's plan it on APR 5-6-7 (if ppl have holiday on 7th).
Or May be APR 12-13
Regards,
Shailendra.

shailendra ... i cant make it on both these weekends. possible only
after vishu (april 14th) weekend :(

problem with permissions is that we have to get it from both kerala
and tn guys to make it fully legal ... otherwise we can just get the
permission from tn side and sneak in from top station :)

anyways .... people ... all interested parties start raising hands! we
can decide the date as per everybody's convenience

Then Let's plan it for 19-20th April.
One of my friend had been to this trek he said they took permission only from TN side.
That's enough i guess.
I'll get more info on that.

Regards,
Shailendra.
