Citywide Zoning Workshops
The City of Oakland needs your help! The City is updating its zoning regulations, which govern the physical development of land. Zoning regulations affect many people living and working in Oakland. We urge you to become familiar with the zoning update process and get involved
Please join us at one of our two community workshops to discuss zoning issues in the City's commercial corridors and residential areas. Workshop participants will engage in small group exercises that illustrate issues associated with the City's residential and commercial zoning. The purpose of the exercise is to familiarize you with the way zoning regulations affect the development pattern of our city. Issues and different tools that can help address the issues will be presented and your input will be requested.
The same meeting is being held at two different locations and times; we hope you can attend one of the meeting dates below:
FEBRUARY 26, 2009, Thursday 5:45 to 7:45 pm
West Oakland Public Library, 1801 Adeline St. (about 1 mile from 12th Street BART Station)
OR
FEBRUARY 28, 2009, Saturday 10:00 am to 12 noon
Bella Vista Elementary School, 1025 E. 28th St. (off of the 62 AC Transit Line)
Help Us Get the Word Out!
We would like your help in distributing the attached flyer in your neighborhood. You could ask your local coffee shop, grocery store, church, dry cleaner, community center, or anywhere where the public may see it to post the flyer. You could distribute the flyer to your neighbors as well. We want to get the word out to as many people as possible.
Also, we encourage you to forward this email to let your friends, neighbors, neighborhood organizations or groups, family, church, etc. know so they will attend the meeting.
