R course

Hi all,

So I do these free online courses sometimes and at the moment they're offering a four week introduction to R starting January 2nd - https://www.coursera.org/#course/compdata. For some of you this is probably useless but for others it might be a good start, I'm going to try following it in any case. Maybe we could use it also in an econometrics session.

Are you obligated to follow all lectures? And can your rewatch them at
the time you want?

Hey hi,

You can watch (and rewatch) them any time you want I think and if there are assignments they normally need to be done within 2 weeks.

Thanks for the information Sarah. I will give it a try to sign up for the course. And indeed, I would also like to have a R meeting in econometrics. We also discussed with Auke and Lotte to have a masterclass out of it in the second semestr. But of course, this is a long term plan.
