Hello gang! I've created 3 shortish (they should be shorter really) videos I plan to use to teach present value in my principles Macro course. The first video explains the intuition and the second two videos are practice problems with solutions. I created them with
on my iPad.
One general lesson I learned is that creating a clean and crisp video takes a lot of time (though I hope it will take less time now that I've learned the software a bit better).
Here are a few tips for explain everything that worked well for me:
1) Create your slides outside of the program (using powerpoint or whatever).
- I found that creating and editing slides in the software was very slow relative to powerpoint
2) The more slides the better.
- This way if you mess up a part of the video that can't be edited in the software, you don't have too much do over work.
3) Plan to record your narrative after you've done your drawing
- It can't hurt to do it simultaneously, but the stylus I used was loud and even using an external mic couldn't solve this problem. So I just locked the video and recorded over the audio.
4) Use a script.
- I tried it without a script and for my taste, it was way too slow. I also ended up having to do too many retakes.
5) Use an external mic.
