Hi All,

While we are dealing with multiple setbacks due to the COVID-19 Lockdown, some of the people who work at DSE have been unable to make it easily through this period. A few of us from different batches and departments have come together to support them by seeking aid from all of you - the alumni.

You can find our campaign here: https://www.ketto.org/fundraiser/dse-fundraising

We are raising funds to support some workers at DSE - vendors and contractual workers - after conducting a preliminary needs-assessment. The lockdown has resulted in their income sources drying up for the past few months. Most of them have run out of savings too.
A few of them are known to all of us and have a place in our memories. Others are not very well-known.

We have got their account details and shall be transferring funds electronically. We’ve been assured by them that they don’t have problems withdrawing the funds through ATMs. Updates on the campaign shall be added on the Ketto campaign page from time to time and donors shall be notified automatically via email.

The initial list of people this campaign will cover are:

Our target is to raise 20,000/- per family, per month, for an initial period of 2 months. We intend to stick with this initiative as per the lockdown updates, with time. We are going to keep in touch with these people consistently over this period.

Your contribution will help them sustain this time of hardship with more comfort and less stress. Any effort - small or big - counts and adds up.

We immediately arranged for (with the help of a student organisation, SFI) and distributed some ration supplies to buy us some time to raise funds. We hope the fundraiser shall raise an adequate amount to take care of their requirements.

Dear all,
With the spread of COVID-19 to every part of the world, it has become difficult for most of us to even get by. Two months ago, we set out to raise funds for some workers in DSE. We got an extremely positive response from you all and met our target within a day. Thank you for the overwhelming response!

We are raising a second round of funds to continue supporting the workers at DSE, both vendors and contractual workers. Our target for this round is to raise 15,000/- per family, per month. We will be covering 14 individuals (supporting families) for the next 4 months. Our total budget will include 10% surplus funds for emergencies such as hospital admissions, checkups, treatments and medicines.

We understand that the current pandemic has affected all of us in different ways, and we are all trying to adjust to the new normal. These can be overwhelming times. However, we believe that a sense of community helps us tide over the most difficult of times.

We would like you to participate in the round however possible - please contribute ANY amount or spread the word in your circles where you think your friends/ colleagues would like to contribute.

There is also a request from one of the PhD students (economics) about funding for the dogs of DSE. She has been feeding them since the lockdown started. If there is anybody who would like to help her, kindly contact Aasheet Badlani. He’ll put you in touch with her.

Dear all,

Firstly, we thank you for supporting the campaign. We launched it at the end of July and till now, we have raised 35% of our campaign target. We have disbursed two rounds to the beneficiaries - Aug & Sep months. The campaign math is 15k per month, per family for 14 families for 4 months. We have almost fully utilized the funds raised till now. We request you to spread the message in your network to help us achieve the target.

The details about the campaign can be found on the above link. Ketto accepts multiple payment options through Indian currency denominations only. Foreign credit / debit cards won’t be accepted.

We have been talking to all the beneficiaries at least once in every ten days. This helps us to discern fund utilization and to be aware of exigencies. As most of you know, one of our dear beneficiaries, Prem ji, passed away last month due to lung cancer. We will continue to raise money for his family.
